As someone who played Assassin's Creed 2 and never finished it because it got so monotonous, I feel like I've already played Assassin's Creed Infinity.
It was a strong first impression that quickly turned into repetitive busywork for the sake of it. I don't think they can be compared on those terms, though I've seen some strong reactions against grinding in boardgames as well (Dark Souls: The Boardgame, for example).
