Friday thoughts: What's a game that you've played and loved, but was negatively reviewed?
Warhammer Diskwars. Did all I wanted out of a miniature game but without the miniatures so it was cheaper, sturdier and easier to transport. A very influential reviewer misinterpreted the rules, played it incorrectly and gave it a bad review. Online, it died instantly.pic.twitter.com/HHQfaJ4C4i

This kind of thing is far too common. :( BTW, I have this game and both expansions - one day, we should play it!

That would be fun! I eventually sold mine because I couldn't get others to play. This is the only example I can recall of a rules mistake by a reviewer nuking a game out of existence.

That's gutting! I have to confess I've never played it. I suppose the only benefit is that it makes it easier to get hold of a copy, but still a shame

For a while it was, but it's been out of print for years so I can't imagine it's that easy to find now.

Did the influential reviewer's name happen to rhyme with "bomb tassel"?
-
More like "button up and suit down".
