I think it is! I'm probably not the best person to be answering because I'm a game designer so naturally I'd be biased towards gameplay.

I was surprised to see "Publisher" on the list, though. It's the least important factor in the formula for me. I don't think there is a publisher who perfectly aligns with my tastes. If it is known for bad production it's more likely to scare me away.

I actually picked that answer. In my view, game industry is closely related to books where publishers are usually theme oriented, choose which authors to work with and have a strong influence on the final product. So lately I find myself looking at trusted publishers' catalogues.
