I recently picked up Dale of Merchants, which comes in 3 nice small boxes or one massive box. Haven't had a chance to play it though.

Heard great things about this one but I only knew of the massive box so I gave it a pass. I might take a second look now.

The small boxes are great, and if you ever want the big box too, there is no overlap, so you arent buying things twice

Thanks! I'm curious to see the abilities and combos since math/progression is often the core of the genre.

to win the game you must construct 8 stalls each stall is made up of cards from your deck

so as the game goes on your deck doesn't become more and more powerful since you have to take cards out of it to achieve victory and because you can only build one stall per turn, and you can see how many stalls your opponents have, you can't just run your engine hard then

build 8 stalls in a row so because of this it's always pretty clear who's in the lead and who can get their engine to run well enough to get ahead but also having to take it apart factoring in redundancy or knowing when to start taking the engine apart is important
