Finally had a chance to try Inis and it is quite striking, both visually and in terms of the game's design. The way it handles victory conditions feels very novel.pic.twitter.com/dd8IUskRAV

We ended our game day with Valley of the Kings, a compact deck building game with a lot of clever twists to the traditional format.pic.twitter.com/2g7a1jst33
That same thought comes screaming into my head each and every time I play it. Such a dizzyingly unusual design
Yeah, it feels built based on such a different set of references to mine.
I love it so much - wish I got to play it more often!
Now that it's on Boardgame Arena you might be able to!
Innovation…much like its predecessor Glory to Rome…is ripe with broken combos. But that’s the fun. Trying to find that awesome combo, and hoping no one notices and blows it apart.
It’s also bizarre in that it feels like a casual card game…but it incredibly deep in strategy and play. It’s…not a pretty game…but outshines that through its wonderful crunchy play.
I feel this way about all the Chudyk (spelling?) games I've played - Innovation, Mottainai, Red 7
I can kind of see the thought process that lead to Red7 but the others... I wouldn't know where to start!
