Look I love me some C&C but for the love of god: enough. Let's have some new ideas and competitors in the light wargame space, please?https://twitter.com/playersaidblog/status/1404053904938221580 …

Yes! Got Undaunted too, but I guess that's about it in the entry-level complexity?

Such a clever system. I never quite got along with the rythm, constantly made bad decisions when buying and playing cards, but it is a real cool game

I mostly agree on it beeing a great system, but after having played all of the 12 scenarios I had to lower my BGG rating a little from 8 to 7. I'm not too fond of many of the scenarios as beeing badly balanced our often leading to tedious stalemates.

In the original this is a fair criticism, I just found it didn't bother me. I enjoyed playing out the repetitive elements looking for a way to break them. Not least because it seems quite realistic as to how a lot of firefights unfold

yeah in that aspect it seems more simulationist and less of a 'game'

what I would like maybe is a note to show which scenarios favor which side as a way perhaps to handicap players or provide a challenging experience

I think Memoir 44 has a similar situation and their advice is to play scenarios twice, once on per side.

This is by design, since it's recreating combat situations that weren't fair either.

I belive that is what the VP values are for: to evaluate the difficulty to achieve that other than changing what historical was the goal. So in result that you could lose the scenario "historicaly" but still win by VPs...and that is where the scenario design lacks IMHO.
