I am trying to make a prototype and am agonizing over every choice, as if the whole point wasn't to make mistakes until it's good. The reality is that organizing playtests online is a much bigger investment for everyone involved so I want it to be good right away.

I wonder how many other designers got stuck in this paradox over the last year.

High five! Did you find a good solution for it? I imagine having an established playtest group that meets regularly could make the process smoother but I haven't had one for years.

The established playtest group or 2 def. helps! So does setting time limits for decision making and simply acknowledging that while I want it to be perfect, it prob. won’t be & sometimes shouldn’t be, like with graphics & expectations.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like
