I am trying to make a prototype and am agonizing over every choice, as if the whole point wasn't to make mistakes until it's good. The reality is that organizing playtests online is a much bigger investment for everyone involved so I want it to be good right away.

High five! Did you find a good solution for it? I imagine having an established playtest group that meets regularly could make the process smoother but I haven't had one for years.

Absolutely. During an in-person playtest, it's no big deal to show something that's a bit half-baked - take 10 minutes, get an impression and move on. That doesn't seem to fit online sessions.

Exactly. I would ideally like to have more regular playtest sessions through discord once this game is working - which also adds to the pressure!
