Twitter is not unique in that it rewards negative engagement. Facebook floods people with right wing outrage bait. YouTube... Just listen to any creator who tells you how their videos that are positive about something just don't get the views.

It's something I find baked in, negativity seems to be considered more authentic, it's much more difficult for creators to be sincere in their love of things. It's so much easier to trash things people dislike and be rewarded for it, than it is to express enthusiasm it seems.

I think that's a also direct consequence of sponsorships. Once people start associating praise to profit/deals, then it's hard to shake. So thank you for your integrity, Casey!
