I don't think I've ever played a racing or fighting boardgame that has felt remotely close to real racing or fighting. Any suggestions for games that best evoke these feelings?

Racing: Formula D. The higher gear you go, the more uncertain the results. Fighting: Unmatched. Quick gameplay, streamlined rules and a great sense of tempo.

I remember Formula D being painfully slow - but I played it with something like 8 players, so maybe it's better with just 3 or 4.

I think we were 3 players and didn't feel slow. Downforce also simulates racing cars in a cool and often surprising way since there is a good chance your car will move even when it's not your turn.
