Question for my designer friends: I'm considering making a new prototype and wondering if it's worth making the whole thing IN Tabletop Simulator so it can be edited during the session when necessary. Is there a strong reason not to do this?

Naturally, when things are more stable I'd start looking at making better looking layouts externally. This is for the first steps when I know surprises will come up.

I’m not sure what you mean by “make the whole thing” in TTS. Do you mean never printing anything out, and only ever iterating in TTS? Or crafting a game that will only ever be played in TTS?

The first one! Crafting the prototype directly using the tools in TTS so I could tweak it during the game. As for a physical production, that's not a concern at the moment. I just want to see if this concept can work.

Early testing in TTS, especially solo testing, is *amazing*. I can iterate a simple game several times in a single evening! Much easier when the printer and paper slicer aren’t involved

I can imagine! Every time I make a sketch, on paper or computer the game moves forward. I don't want the whole thing to live in a computer forever though so I might end up crafting a prototype once it's advanced enough.

Yep, it’s a solid way to proceed!
