Last week I finished Yakuza 0 and I'm still thinking about it. What a surprise! It's my first one in the series so I can't compare it to the others but I can tell you a bit about what I liked the most.
Here are some examples: - Getting stuffed toys from a claw machine. - Rescuing someone from a cult. - Distracting a crowd so a human statue can take a leak. - Pretending to be someone's boyfriend so her father will see her as independent. - Training a dominatrix.

These kept the game exciting throughout. I never knew when they would pop up. They create HUGE tonal shifts when compared to the main story, going from a grim drama to slapstick comedy in the blink of an eye, heightening the dramatic moments.

These stories are fairly small but are very important. They give a broader context to the setting and story. They show everyone has something going on in their lives. They show that everyone is worth helping, and that's rad.pic.twitter.com/Rn1Q1iEaMw

If you're curious about the series, this is a great place to start!

I'm imagining the yakuza calling in these favours ten or fifteen years after the game is set. In '98 a woman in her thirties finds two guys in dodgy 70s suits outside her apartment; "You remember when our mutual friend got you that Doraemon? Well, now we need to hide a body."

This is a prequel and I'm pretty much some of these moments/characters are going to be there in the following ones!
