In the first studio I worked at we crunched for 4 months straight. If you left before the project was done, your name would be cut from the credits, which made your CV look fake.

Most people had no contracts and could be let go without any notice. Nobody explicitly asked us to stay late, but there was far more work than time and you had to walk past everyone on your way out. You don't want to be the ONLY ONE who left, right?

Daaaaamn. Just damn. I did push myself at different times for different jobs, but "gaming crunch" sounds like something a younger me would have huge problems with surviving without some kind of damage.
