That looks pretty cool - how is it made? It kind of looks like slot-together die-cut card, but some bits of it don't have any obvious way they could be assembled without glue?
Both. It is die cut like board game component punch board, and assembled with glue
Ah! I'm a bit saddened, I don't really have the storage space for dedicated terrain any more so I'd love some reasonable properly-flat-pack-able stuff. I have a dream about making bits to fit the old nineties Necromunda bulkheads...!
Have you seen these? Modular boards with pop-up terrain.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBQk-8Nkn3c …
I did! It's a really nice idea, but the pop-up mechanics limit the density somewhat, from what I've seen.
(Which I gather is fine for typical 40k play - I'm not saying it's a bad product! Just not necessarily suitable for dense skirmish games.)
Got it, it's a good point. I wonder if they also sell other obstacles to scatter around.
When I was playing Gaslands I didn't want to spend too much/long on terrain so I bought a knockoff jenga set which we rearranged to create walls and obstacles. Inexpensive and did the trick!

Here's an example with those jenga blocks, cardboard templates and spacemen from Mission Red Planet as zombies:https://twitter.com/gamesbymanuel/status/1026229730486444032 …
Manuel Correia added,
It works! And I have enough brightly coloured wooden blocks so long as our son isn't around when I get the chance to play... ;-) I do like a nicely-dressed battlefield, though. I'll have to take a closer look at the ones Raf mentioned if he reckons they pack down well.
