I particularly like the article about handicaps from Duelist 16. There is no shame in handicaps and it can facilitate more enjoyment.

Sure, that works for keyforget decks. But the implied assumption there is that the players need EQUAL footing to offset the inequal decks. Conversely, in the article linked, Richard mentions tennis and having clearly UNEQUAL footing to offset PLAYER imbalance.

I was also talking about that. :) This Chains mechanic is a handicap that the players can choose to use but is also an integral part of some of the formats.
