breaks my heart to be chatting w/ someone who wants to be a designer & they say "i heard designers need to code these days. i'm not sure i can learn to code." engineering has been so wrapped in secrecy & elitism. it shouldn't be. it's no different than learning any other skill!
I would also suggest giving analog design a shot. Quick feedback loop, playtesting can be fun and rewarding, you get to spend more time on pure design and can tweak it during the seasion. I love it!
