I completely ditched Facebook, sold my bel bed quest, got off insta and even whatsapp. Feel so much better for it!
-
I worked in VR for two years, the Quest was a gift. The main reason I want to keep it is because it has a game I worked on. :/

I know a lot of people who use messenger and not facebook. I'm saying this as I know many don't know you can. I have messenger open every day for comms and rarely facebook.
-
Thanks! It's not a tool I use (or like to use) much but it could be handy eventually.

I stopped actively using Facebook nearly two years ago for mental health reasons. Ot was meant to be a short break... I still use Messenger mostly to video chat with my oldest daughter in the UK and my 15 year old when she's away at school during the week now.
-
I hope it helped! I've been meaning to do this for a while but then I found my studio working for Facebook. I felt like I shouldn't do it then because I needed an account in order to work. That's over now.

I disabled my account at least three years ago. Zero regrets.

Good on you! I eventually will do the same. Unfortunately one of my last game releases was on their platform and I would like to have access to it.

@Twitter any better? I keep getting tweets from people I don't know or follow in my timeline.... Just because someone liked or replied to them, not RTed them... News of someone's death. Some horrible story. 8/10 times something horrible. Instagram is the nicest so far -
I use Tweetdeck so I don't see any ads or those reactions to posts and the timeline is in the right order. I don't really understand Instagram but it's owned by facebook as well so I'm not inclined to try now.
