I feel inspired to revisit this prototype from 2013 because the theme still makes me laugh. At the time I got stuck with the mechanics, I'll probably start from scratch.pic.twitter.com/4P5SA0yUHG

Here is a post I wrote about it then. At the time didn't want to namedrop but that friend was @vitallacerda , in the brief period we worked at the same videogame studio. :)https://gamesbymanuel.com/2013/08/17/fortune-tellers/ …
I still haven't seen a game that uses this theme. If you know one, please let me know and I'll gladly change mine.
Did some research this weekend and so far haven't found a game that gets close to this concept, which is a good sign! Also, a bit scary because that means I have no references for the gameplay but there are several things I want to try.
Got a new concept for Fortune Tellers and started trying to visualize what it could look like during play. This is the first time a design began to sound so complex that I started writing the rules right away. I'll let you know how it pans out.pic.twitter.com/7wGlf9T5JS
Following with interest! What do you use to make that overview of what they game will look like?
Thank you! It's just a drawing in the Google doc where I'm writing the rules. I like it a lot because it is flexible enough for a sketch and not precise enough that I'll get stuck trying to make it look good.
I've never really looked at the drawing tools in Google Docs. Looks great. I often try sketch out what the game will look like in my notebook fairly early in my process. I'm going to have a look at the drawing too later!
Me too, but since it's easier to iterate the rules on a text doc I'm taking advantage of the drawings as well. Don't get your hopes up, it's mostly simple shapes in a small window. It just so happens to be what I need right now. :)
We did use Google Slides (and the drawing tools) to collaborate on Blight Chronicles because we could edit at the same time and it needed no additional software. This is what the prototype looked like for most of its development.pic.twitter.com/VbpTlLyE1Z
That makes a lot of sense! 9 cards per slide I presume?
Yeah, these were set so we could print them out and as far as I know 9 is the highest amount of standard cards you can fit in on an A4.
