Sent a white flag email to a publisher for whom I’m supposed to craft a design. No tabletop since March is killing my energy and inspiration. My games are all in bins in the garage. I now work 8-5 at home. I’ve been struggling with design for years and this is killer.

I’m a bit ashamed. Been trying to outflank my ego for a bit now on this and I’m just hitting a wall. I can’t even test any thing I make - I just need Covid to cease for designs of this complexity.

I know the feeling! I had to scrap one of my prototypes to make it playable with two just to be able to playtest at home. Otherwise there is no viable way to progress.

2-4, hour plus game, lots of components and complexity. Just a non-starter. And I just cannot emotionally sit down on a weekend or evening to fill spreadsheets in the same chair I fill spreadsheets M-F, 8-5. Just...can’t get over the hump.

Things aren't great for print and play either, it's very hard to cut through the noise. The finished Cortiça got a whopping 17 downloads.
