I feel inspired to revisit this prototype from 2013 because the theme still makes me laugh. At the time I got stuck with the mechanics, I'll probably start from scratch.pic.twitter.com/4P5SA0yUHG

The players are shady fortune tellers who are trying to predict what the other players are going to do. You only get points when you get it right. There is a great action available on the board. You should take it. Wait, why didn't anyone take it?

Here is a post I wrote about it then. At the time didn't want to namedrop but that friend was @vitallacerda , in the brief period we worked at the same videogame studio. :)https://gamesbymanuel.com/2013/08/17/fortune-tellers/ …

I still haven't seen a game that uses this theme. If you know one, please let me know and I'll gladly change mine.

Did some research this weekend and so far haven't found a game that gets close to this concept, which is a good sign! Also, a bit scary because that means I have no references for the gameplay but there are several things I want to try.

Got a new concept for Fortune Tellers and started trying to visualize what it could look like during play. This is the first time a design began to sound so complex that I started writing the rules right away. I'll let you know how it pans out.pic.twitter.com/7wGlf9T5JS

Looking at this concept again, I'm glad I kept all those notes. There are still many parts of that I need to figure out. This one is tricky because I have to design several games that live inside, and feed off, each other.

Cleaning the BGG entry and this was too good not to share. Thank you for the laugh @playnyctophobia ! https://twitter.com/playnyctophobia/status/1376891925383553024 …pic.twitter.com/Dt3DOUbaSD

Twitter thread where a BGG user says they own a copy of Fortune Tellers and I'm sure they don't, since I don't have one either. Catherine Stippell suggests they might be me from the future!

Trying to gather my thoughts and turn them into a playable prototype. The first step is to try and visualize what it could look like during play. That way I can get a feel for the amount of components and how much room it could take on the table.pic.twitter.com/OPQlhFjZRp

Here's an example of a village card. They represent a place and a person that can come to visit you for a prediction if you get enough word of mouth.pic.twitter.com/53h0O8oDEo

The mockup of a village card. The top half is about a park and the bottom half has an old man asking you if he's ever going to win any money from scratch cards.

Started a Design Diary for Fortune Tellers on BGG where you can learn more about what it is, where it came from and where it's going next. https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2639025/article/37468935#37468935 …pic.twitter.com/eNXBaUafiV
