To make mine a bit more dynamic I created effects which would affect adjacent cards, rearrange cards and such. I wanted surprises without too much upkeep/memorizing.
That's a really appealing idea, and something I'd like to play around with. Especially if it allows the player to construct a narrative around a strategy the "opponent" was playing.
That's what I was going for! A guard dog will always go closer to a person (moving other cards back), you can push a clumsy guard towards someone else, etc.
