Being an @ArchaeologistSP student, it should be noted that all of MY students turned up with notebooks and pen to take notes ;)
Next up, @mikeBithell speaking on turning John Wick into a game. #YGF20
It’s a big change from ‘Thomas Was Alone’ to ‘John Wick Hex.’ #YGF20
It took three indie groups to get the game made. #YGF20pic.twitter.com/EnwhrtUF1K
They deliberately went for making the ‘weird’ ‘quirky’ game version of a John Wick game, instead of going for the ‘obvious Max Payne clone’. #YGF20
To get a ‘design bible’ for the game, they had to have the films reverse engineered - edits, colors, compositional elements. This included data sciencing the fight scenes to make game fight scenes play like film fight scenes. #YGF20
Love this quote from @mikeBithell at #YGF20 - a licensed game is just fanfiction that they let you do.pic.twitter.com/CqQgqWfxoa
