So the design of the cards need to be the same, but the details on the cards can change? So something like The Mind would be an example?

I believe it's the same card printed 18 times.

I went and looked at some of the answers in the original thread, it does look like 18 of the same card, but the backs can be different, so you could have an additional set of 18 of the same cards on the back. So you could, technically have 2 sets of 18 cards.

Oh, that's a drastic change! Almost as if it's a different set of rules.

It makes it sound like "make an 18 card game where every card has the same back", which is already true for half their catalog. :)

Yes definitely way less of a challenge! I think interpreting strictly is more interesting. I'd be tempted to take a very different direction... Like it's actually about the shapes you make with the cards or a dexterity games with them.

That's cool too! Another approach could be to hold the fan of cards so that it reveals specific corners. Card effects would be able to rotate or flip them.

Interesting! Fan cards. Your score is what shows up on the top left corner. Discard a card to 1) fan the other way or 2) flip a card 9 degrees or 3) challenge: both players throw down their hands to compare scores. Highest score wins.
