- Hey, I have a question about your game. - Sure! Join our discord. - Oh that's too bad. It's so sad nobody will ever know the answer.

I don't think it's just me being socially anxious here. Potentially having to create an account, registering, joining the server, navigating it and having to interact with the right people to get an answer is a lot to ask.

I just want a simple answer! I should not have to join a community to get it.

in seriousness, it's just easier to streamline your communication channels to a single point. and discord is one of the best platforms to use for that nowdays. so i'm not surprised a studio or project rather you'd contact them through their discord server.

If a studio changes something in their game that affects everyone, don't expect then to go find it in a constant avalanche of posts. It's bad for the server too if they keep being asked the same question over and over.

If it's a question like "How do I know when the next tournament is coming up?", sure. Because that person is in it for the long term.
