Fortunately the players have created a solid (non-official) site where you can use your decks to play online. This has been a welcome addition which lets me play anytime I want!

Five months later, the local scene is suffering from the same problems. No casual play, only tournaments. Super competitive players buying hundreds of decks to pick the very best. Nobody else has a chance unless they do the same. Very discouraging.

Fortunately my win rate is improving. It's the first time I'm tracking something like this and it's very insightful. I should probably write an article when I hit a big number like 500 games played.

What is your favorite competitive game where you can't buy your way to victory and has a good community?

One thing lead to another and I'm organizing a Reversal tournament, which is where you bring a deck for your *opponent* to play with. Bring your worst decks!

The Reversal Tournament was today! I leaned that my worst deck is apparently not terrible enough for this format - it won every game, by a good margin, against me. :)

It feels very different to know exactly what threats can appear from your opponent's side, and I certainly saw some combos I hadn't considered myself. I definitely learned something.

Also confirmed that, as an introvert, organizing and playing on a tournament at the same time is very draining. A constant stream of complicated external questions that I don't always have answers for. I'm peopled-out for today.

Started a BGG thread to talk about my frustrations with
#Keyforge as a casual game and how the ultra-competitive are taking over. https://boardgamegeek.com/article/32745185 …1 reply 0 retweets 1 likeShow this thread -
Replying to @gamesbymanuel
That is frustrating! How big of a population is in your area?

About 100k population but the local tournaments have had under 10 players for a while.
