With all this talk of 'making hits', I'm curious: Do you hope to make a financial income from your NEXT released game?

I'd love to but I have to be realistic here. I'm still far from being able to do this fulltime.

But I'm not asking whether you hope for it to pay enough for you to quit your other job. I guess I should have asked whether you hope for it to become an evergreen 'hit'.

I see! Of course I'd like my games to be popular enough to stick around but I don't really design my games with that in mind. I'm just exploring a mechanic or interaction that caught my attention.

My opinion on this has shifted over time. At first my first goal was to just get a game out there. Now it's been a while, the last copies are selling out and there are no plans to reprint them. I don't see them in stores anymore and that is sad.

On the other hand, there are so many games being published nowadays and they also deserve their spot on the shelves.
