I love the concept behind Keyforge, but the local scene is demotivating. No casual play, only tournaments. They've bought a ton of decks to find the best one, so they're unbeatable. There are formats to combat this, but they're not interested.

There seems to be a big range in terms of deck quality, which goes hand in hand with the ruthlessness that CCG players bring.

I don't really mind it too much in Sealed tournaments, but if players have a chance to bring their own decks from home I know I don't have a chance unless I spend as much money as they did.

Another frustrating thing is the feeling that I'm not making any progress. How much control do I have over the outcome over any given game? My win rate hasn't changed over 300 games.

Fortunately the players have created a solid (non-official) site where you can use your decks to play online. This has been a welcome addition which lets me play anytime I want!

Five months later, the local scene is suffering from the same problems. No casual play, only tournaments. Super competitive players buying hundreds of decks to pick the very best. Nobody else has a chance unless they do the same. Very discouraging.

Same here. The frustration is pointing me in two different directions. 1) Organize a casual Reversal tournament to see if there is interest in something besides ruthless efficiency. 2) Try to get into Netrunner again, online.

It's good to have a competitive game you can count on. This is (was?) the current one for me. :(
