Looks like klondike solitaire is on its way to joining sudoku and pic-a-pix as the most played games on my switch. Apparently, the take-away here is I should be looking into games where each playthrough is 5-15 mins. Or at least games that have a mode of that length.

The more you advance, the longer they'll get. I'm at about 60 mins per run and it's frankly too much.

This tweet is enough to put me off buying Dead Cells on its own. I've been on the threshold of purchasing it for a while and only really waiting for some time to play videogames at all. So... thanks, I guess?

You're welcome! There are some things I really like about it like the fluid visuals, character controls and combat but I strongly dislike a lot of its design and progression. Fortunately the team has been making positive changes.

I think from all the promo material I'd seen I was expecting a game where each run was only 10-15min max, but a lot of runs over a lot of plays meant you were getting to more interesting places and doing more esoteric stuff in that 10-15mins.

Unfortunately that's not the case. Even though the level layouts are procedurally generated, you'll quickly be very familiar with the first 10-15 minutes.
