Looks like klondike solitaire is on its way to joining sudoku and pic-a-pix as the most played games on my switch. Apparently, the take-away here is I should be looking into games where each playthrough is 5-15 mins. Or at least games that have a mode of that length.

Yeah, Binding of Isaac is a lot like that. As much as I love it, I decided not to pick it up any time soon on switch as the runs get kinda lengthy.
-
I play Isaac when I want to zone off and listen to a podcast because it has no incentive to rush through. Fortunately the switch's sleep functionality works really well for these games, but I'm also on the lookout for simply shorter sessions.

This tweet is enough to put me off buying Dead Cells on its own. I've been on the threshold of purchasing it for a while and only really waiting for some time to play videogames at all. So... thanks, I guess?

You're welcome! There are some things I really like about it like the fluid visuals, character controls and combat but I strongly dislike a lot of its design and progression. Fortunately the team has been making positive changes.

We've been thinking about shortening it or adding some kind of rush mode, where a run would be like 30 mins... Bit of work in that though.
-
That would be very welcome. I get that you we're aiming for that with the timed gates, but it feels like I'm being rewarded by skipping a lot of the gameplay.
