English, but that might be because there were no Portuguese translations of games while I was growing up. I clearly remember the first translated one I played, it was a big selling point.

Some of us reason the same way, a sense that games are "supposed to be" in English, while we also want our games to be available in as many languages as possible.

Exactly, it became synonymous with videogames. Now the translations are more common, but they sound off to me simply because all the translated versions of common terms (like save, continue, inventory, heal, shop, etc) are not as intuitive.

Also, I recognize a lot of the voice actors from kid's shows, which greatly affects the tone of games like God of War.
