Man, I will never understand the tendency in the boardgame space to make games about geisha.

Not problematic, relatable and it fits the mechanics better. When I mention the original is about geishas the players are always so confused.

Oh man, do you have plans to make this more widely available?

Unfortunately not, I don't want to detract anyone from buying the original. This is just a personal copy.

There's been an official art redesign or reskin of Hanamikoji recently, hasn't there? Also, am I right in thinking that Hanamikoji ok as a game originated in Japan and it does actually portray geishas in the correct cultural context? Perfectly willing to be corrected on this!

There is a more recent version called Jixia Academy but you're still trying to "get" guys so it still feels odd to me.pic.twitter.com/wldvV7l72P

That is such a smart idea! It's also more family appropriate. I mean, just how do you explain geisha to a 10 year old from Europe or North America without a 2 hour history/geography lesson about Japan first? Especially when most adults don't even know the true context.

Agreed that the theme is lackluster. I think the game sounds fun but not really going to pull this out at work or with my family. Bring on the dog one! Would buy. Ha.
