One of my favorite things to explore as a consumer for years is how different publishers iterate within the space of deck construction for head to head games. The key really seems to be accessibility. I appreciate this. But most utterly fail at making me care about my deck.
This might be a tangent, but Arkham Horror LCG really limits the upgrades you can do and it happens on certain milestones. Sounds like it should make every change feel important.

I've heard good things about it. From how you describe it, it sounds like a constraint, but still a player choice, which is meaningful and interesting.
