Give me some good examples of the use of “verticality” in boardgames: Times where either the height of a thing makes it easier to recognize, or where 3D orientation is integral to gameplay.

Santorini: build "stairs" to the third step to win. Hive: beetles go on top of other pieces and prevent them from moving. NMBR9: build over lower pieces, greatly affects scoring. Ginkgopolis: upgrade buildings and take them over from other players.
