I love the concept behind Keyforge, but the local scene is demotivating. No casual play, only tournaments. They've bought a ton of decks to find the best one, so they're unbeatable. There are formats to combat this, but they're not interested.

There seems to be a big range in terms of deck quality, which goes hand in hand with the ruthlessness that CCG players bring.

I don't really mind it too much in Sealed tournaments, but if players have a chance to bring their own decks from home I know I don't have a chance unless I spend as much money as they did.

I struggle with pay to win games. I thought lcgs were better than that though often they are still expensive. I almost wish there was a strategic but casual lcg which perhaps launched one new box a year. In some ways that's whaat dominion is.

Played casually, I wouldn't describe it like that. I still enjoy it and would like to continue playing. I had some hopes that Epic or Ashes would be that sort of game.

Epic hasn't let me down (other than the eternally delayed app), but I still haven't been able to find people that would like to play it more regularly. Building decks for Ashes requires more "homework" than I'm willing to do at this point.

To be honest, I sort of miss the deckbuilding aspect and I enjoyed Ashes' gameplay, but at the time I didn't have enough free time and the local scene seemed almost nonexistent.
