I love the concept behind Keyforge, but the local scene is demotivating. No casual play, only tournaments. They've bought a ton of decks to find the best one, so they're unbeatable. There are formats to combat this, but they're not interested.

There seems to be a big range in terms of deck quality, which goes hand in hand with the ruthlessness that CCG players bring.

I don't really mind it too much in Sealed tournaments, but if players have a chance to bring their own decks from home I know I don't have a chance unless I spend as much money as they did.

Replying to @gamesbymanuel
But that's a problem in all CCG/LCG? I stomped people in NR because I had an optimized deck & 3 years worth of cards, while they just had a core + 1 big box. If you can BYODeck, you can ensure it's a good one. That's why sealed is, imho, the only way to play KF competitively.

That's part of what drove me away from CCG/LCGs but Keyforge's static decks genuinely seemed like the alternative. Sealed and Adaptive are very promising, but so far I've only had a chance to try the first.
