My favorite portable games are: - Tak - Hive - Tides of Time - Hanamikoji - Kamisado - Battleline - Five Ravens - Lost Cities (easy to adapt to play with a standard deck) - Onitama (just the cards, use the Tak pieces)

From what I can tell, the main things these games have in common are: - small box (or easy to carry in another box) - small footprint (playable on an airport tray) - allows for at least two players - takes a maximum of 30 minutes to play

This looks really good. Elegant, streamlined rules and it plays a great range or players!

Palm Island: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/239464/palm-island … You can literally play it in the palm of one hand and it's super replayable.

It's a really clever game, I wish I had come up with that one. Does it work well with more players? I've only played it solo.

I've played loads of Hanabi on flights or airports! Needs 2 players, but the little table on a plane seat is perfect space for it. I'd say anything that doesn't fit in that space doesn't fit in the challenge.

Absolutely, that is one of my criteria. I can expand on that on the main thread.
