In videogames this is just as common and the simple solution is: don't just rely on color. Accompany them with different shapes and symbols. Even Puzzle Bobble has different shapes inside the bubbles.pic.twitter.com/awKrpv5lUz

Yeah, those glass bead type things are the worst. Anything semi-transparent is awful for colourblind players. Good on you for the quick fix!

Fortunately those were never a problem because they only had one color in each prototype so there was nothing to mistake them for. It was the cubes!

I picked it back up about three years ago, made a new version. Showed it to publishers along with my other games and only one publisher seemed interested, but their schedule was full. They ask about it at every event.
