Good one, very clean design!

One of my absolute favorite things about Gaslands is the amount of creativity going into creating the "world" and people's willingness to share ideas for custom designing cars, terrain, vehicle templates, the whole thing. This game has completely fired up my imagination.

I'd love to find a place where I could follow just that! The main Gaslands Facebook group is flooded with haul posts.

...but don't mention that or they get very grumpy.

I think the haul posts (not all of the) are more about looking for validation in the cars picked up by new builders. The thing they don't realize is you can use just about anything and still look good. Other haul posts are just hot wheels addicted people who can't help it.

True, but I expected more Gaslands in the main Gaslands group. Talk about the game, cool moments in sessions, map layouts that people found. There are dedicated groups for collecting Hot Wheels.

I agree. It's turned toward the focus of car builds. I think that comes from the questions all the new people to the group have about doing it. All "new to the group" postings seem to be a conversion question of some sort. That's why I created Gaslands Garage for that there.

There's a worrying amount of people who mention that they just like modding the cars and haven't played yet. :)

Well, some people approach wargaming differently. There is that hard core bunch that comes from a world that never puts an unpainted mini on the table. They may see the same in a car being unmodded. They are still part of the fold. Just not as far along on the journey.

True facts. But that kind of opinions are sometimes a little disturbing for new players and can build walls where doors and windows are needed. Just look at gaslands as what it is: A Game that doesn’t take itself too seriously, a lots of fun and a great way to meet new people.

I have been a moderator of online communities for years and the more it grows, the bigger the risk for spam. Facebook is the wrong place for these kinds of communities.

Feel free to make your own group. Nothing is stopping you from creating a group that offers the experience you like. Others may find it a refreshing alternative. Next thing you know... you have what you seek and others do as well.

I'm honestly mulling over that. I don't want to scatter the community too much but there doesn't seem to be a space for the type of thing I'm looking for. "Gaslands Highlights" maybe, where we focus on gameplay, cool moments, track layouts.
