Know Patchwork already? This game is exactly the same, but scaled back to take half as long and be more accessible to younger players (or tired people
).pic.twitter.com/XCwcQRWvPk
Don't know Patchwork? No probs. It's a tile placement game for two-players with a dash of economy sprinkled in. Players are competing to make quilts by filling their board with fabric tiles.pic.twitter.com/Y0Ys8YsHpT
Ya got two currencies: time & buttons. Time you can never get back, and buttons you'll earn when you spend time or pass an income spot. Tiles cost a mix of both to play!pic.twitter.com/PIM1muJOAX
On your turn, you can either buy and place one of the three tiles in front of the pawn, or move your markers to catch-up to your opponent, gaining 1 button for every space moved.pic.twitter.com/3TeOgUyOi9
If your marker passes over a button on the time track, by any means, you get income! Gain 1 button for every button on your quilt.pic.twitter.com/ZInIl524cS
The game ends as soon as both players are out of time. Count your buttons, then subtract 2 for every empty space on your quilt. Whoever has the most buttons at the end wins. Easy-peasy.pic.twitter.com/Tp4jv3yZP5
If you've never played Patchwork & you primarily play two-player games, I'd definitely recommend trying it out. The normal version has since left our collection (because it is CUT THROAT and we are mean to each other in it), but we both still enjoy it. Express is just faster.pic.twitter.com/Qp1UFZ4AEH
So it’s just a smaller grid? No rules changes?
