This looks interesting. A CCG style game, by Richard Garfield, which doesn't involve buying booster packs or monthly expansions. Each deck is unique, with no deckbuilding. Definitely going to give this a try when it's released. https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2018/8/1/keyforge-call-of-the-archons/ …

This sounds super exciting for a more casual audience, like me!

This is really interesting. But for a lot of the more casual players I know, being able to build a Goblin deck or Angel deck or just being able to make *your deck* is one of the hooks for Magic, being able to customise your experience. This just doesn't have that at all?

But I think a unique deck that is your own might have its own joys. In the end, it's all going to come down to how good the gameplay is! Also, as a casual player, I hate chasing rare cards and expansions.

Building decks is valid and a compelling reason to play but it's also what keeps/pushes a lot of people out. I haven't yet seen a business model that doesn't get bloated as the game goes on. I'm very curious about this.

I’m a complete newbie in this area - never played magic or android netrunner - I have zero interest in chasing decks or rare cards etc so I wonder if this would be more accessible for someone totally new to this like me

I'm honestly a little surprised at how accessible it looks! I had become REALLY cynical about Fantasy Flight's business models after the Legend of the Five Rings LCG.

It’s probably still not for me as I assume you’ll have to buy multiple deck - but certainly seems like an effort to reach a wider audience

The core seems to come with four decks. Two teaching decks and two random ones.
