They don't even need to show how it plays. That's all they need for a successful campaign.
I don't think that's unique to them, though. I am willing to bet the number of backers who read the posted SPQF rules or did more than scan the picture and the price is under 30.
Do you think that's their default behavior or because the rules video was clear enough?
And to be fair: I also don't read rules or anything. But, I also only backer designers and people I trust (at retail or KS). So, I don't need to read the rules...I have faith in their vision.
I mention the rules because to me that's the best sign of trust in your product. I can't trust a campaign that doesn't show how it plays. Even if I don't read it. Just seeing it's there is reassuring.
It is my strongest held belief that 99% of a successful KS is demonstrating your authenticity. So, displaying rules. A PNP. A how to play video. Some reviews. I don't think people want them, they just want to know they are there.
