I love big, linear, singleplayer games, and I love livestreaming and content creators. They don't play well together, though, so I am genuinely hoping for these industries to find equilibrium in a way where they can both thrive.http://m.ign.com/articles/2018/06/19/developers-say-twitch-is-hurting-single-player-games …

It's simple economics though: if you're a content creator, why buy a game with limited playtime and content, that audiences will only watch once or twice, if you can also play a persistent game that you can keep creating content for if it ends up popular with your viewers?

And if you're a dev looking at the economics, why create something big and risky that is playable once - that'll fade from Twitch within weeks from launch, if you can also make a roguelike that can be played for months if not years?

at this moment in my life I only want to play single player games. I have no time to spend on endless experiences and developing expertise in a simulation. I would if I could... Is there a big market for 30+ gamers who just want to enjoy a single player time bound experience?
