We decided to book a flight to California to visit Newegg this week. We have informed that we will be arriving at their doorstep with cameras and that this is the company's opportunity to have a discussion.
We're just letting you all know in case they put PR spin out.
EVGA terminates relationship with NVIDIA, ceases all video card manufacturing on grounds of disrespectful treatment, among other things. Employees told they will be 'taken care of,' but we don't see how all those jobs will persist ad infinitum:
Newegg didn't help us when we called them for support. We posted a video and, like magic, Newegg starts spam calling us.
Sorry, . You get the same treatment we did. Our "phone reps" are busy. Email us & we'll get back to it if we feel like it, just like your policy.
I don't think I've ever in my career seen a company get steamrolled in reviews as unanimously and gruesomely as what just happened to NVIDIA. Every single review title and thumb I've seen thus far has been brutal.

Not OK for them to say anything like that. The specific "should your editorial direction change" is a huge cross over a big red line.
We only have like 4 RT benchmarks in our suite and give it about 2 minutes in our reviews because it's not widespread enough yet, so agree w/yours

I have something else to say about NVIDIA's latest decision to shoot both its feet: They've now made it so that any reviewers covering RT will become subject to scrutiny from untrusting viewers who will suspect subversion by the company.

Newegg was not a part of this decision. We will be there whether or not they show up to the meeting -- but we're flying across the country and will make it on time, so we hope they come out of their front doors.

"GPU market lowest sales in a decade" -- I wonder if the highest sales of all time for the last 2 years, most people having one now, and the absolutely insane and insulting prices have anything to do with it
About the issues yesterday -- so, despite being in a thread with 4 YouTube employees, we've learned it was actually a GN viewer who works at Google (not YouTube) who got our video fixed via internal pings.
The YouTube staff we spoke with never did anything.

The amount of emails we're receiving from viewers saying "Newegg Scammed Me Too" is disturbing. Had no idea it was this widespread. Seems to all be similar issues.

A viewer alerted us to a company scamming people with YouTube ads by using our image, our name, etc. to advertise what they claim to be prebuilt gaming PCs. They even use our company name for the ad. IT'S NOT US. please remove these
I've been replying to emails from former Artesian Builds staff for the last few hours and trying to put people in contact with potential new employers in the industry. It is insane how many people were affected by this. For context: Newegg, with a few thousand employees, only--
Played a game under an unrelated alias for a bit and someone in chat asked if anyone had experience with overclocking GPUs. Tried to offer help. Someone else in chat said "don't listen to him, go watch gamersnexus on youtube or something instead"

We met with Newegg on Thursday. We have mixed feelings on the meeting overall, but the executive team we met with did take a lot of notes. This is a great step and was one of our requests we brought on behalf of the community comments -- so they did listen. More to come.
First time, I think, that we've ever exceeded 10M views in a 30-day period. Thanks everyone for enabling us to do what we love doing as independent media specialized in technical testing. Immediate expansion plans include researching thermal chambers, among other new tools.
I want to note also that ASUS emailed us - unprompted - and asked to fly out this week to meet with us about the issues. We told them we'd be down for it but that we'd have to record the conversation. They haven't replied to us for 5 days. So... ASUS had a chance to correct this.
FYI: Cyberpunk currently has DRM that is only active for reviewers and is known to reduce performance. Will not be active on launch day, therefore any testing published today will not accurately reflect launch performance. CDPR warned us of this, so we are waiting for launch day.

No reason to take shots at console players. They're perfectly valid devices and very accessible.
Intel is currently showing benchmarks from Crysis Remastered to tell us how well it can run games that were originally built in 2007 and rebranded a decade later, kind of like its architecture

We're happy if AdSense even covers staff wages -- and it often doesn't. To test new CPUs and rerun multiple other CPUs alongside it, for instance, just took 2 of our team members 40hr week each (80), a writer ~40 hrs, editors TBD, and mine still tallying up.

That Newegg story about the weights in a 4090 box was legitimate btw. We have an update in the next HW News.
We have been able to reproduce a catastrophic failure resulting in the motherboard self-immolating while we were running external current logging, thermography, and direct VSOC leads to a DMM. The issue involves incompetence on many levels. Video script being finalized now.
Good, but skeptical of how genuine NVIDIA is in its apology.

Won't be the last you hear of this. We'll let HUB start since it's their story, but they have our full support. Implying the demand for a "change" in "editorial direction" is way over the line. This makes NVIDIA look weak. This isn't necessary if the product is good.

Met someone today who had photographic evidence of an RTX 3070 in their computer. Needless to say, the person has been apprehended by the appropriate anti-witch authorities for performing dark summoning magic.
Once again, we are seeing a frightening amount of stories from customers of about very similar things happening to them - many with support chat logs and receipts to prove it. Hopefully the company improves instead of just getting better at removing RMA evidence.

The former Artesian employee who had her money taken back by the CEO (or money manager) has informed us that PayPal is now sending debt collectors after the $4700 USD that he clawed back when claiming the charge -- payment for work completed -- was unfamiliar.

We bought a motherboard, never opened it (not even from the UPS box), & sent it back because we didn't need it anymore when it got here. I offered to pay a restocking fee, no worries. Newegg claims it has "thermal paste on the socket"=no refund.
