I’m thrilled to see the addition of the Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation and I congratulate all who played a role in the planning process of this magnificent space! It was an honor to cut the ribbon today.

Reassuring to see the 's Office moving quickly to conduct a thorough investigation into the death of Jordan Neely. D.A. Bragg is a thoughtful and experienced attorney. I have faith he will follow the facts and take the appropriate action.

Years of consistent, relentless rent hikes have been imposed on tenants in this city, bringing average rents in low-income, middle-income, and mixed neighborhoods to the very brink of affordability, or beyond. RGB should freeze or reduce rents, not raise them.

I've been extremely vocal about the dangers of reducing headcounts at oversight agencies. This report shows how staffing cuts at all city agencies stymy anti-corruption efforts at an alarming rate.

Today is #DenimDay. Every year, this international campaign raises awareness about all forms of sexual violence. All survivors must be given support, compassion, and full and fair access to justice — not ignorance, thoughtlessness and shaming that all too often occur instead.

I’m deeply saddened by the passing of the great Harry Belafonte. He was a longtime resident of the UWS and I adored him. His warmth was as great as his talent and commitment to civil rights. Being with him at the dedication of the Harry Belafonte 115th St. Library was an honor.
