        Listen, I had a teacher in elementary school who neglected to teach us math because she wanted to teach us more things about whales instead, so I'm practically an expert, and this is the first I've heard of this. I thought it was manatees they thought were mermaids?

        maybe! I just remember the manatee story specifically, but that certainly doesn't mean it was the only one. I guess lonely dudes just spent a lot of time looking at the ocean wishing it was full of ladies.
