Especially given the roadmap Marvel had laid out for giving directors freedom to make the films they wanted, but know all along where it is heading. It is truly a head scratcher.

There hasn’t been a decent Star Wars flick since Wrath of Kahn. And yes, Marvel’s approach is much better. It can weather Ben Affleck as their Batman and still do well.

I do wonder how much more cohesive they would have been had jj Abrams done all three.

He ended Felicity with a time travel deus ex machina. Lost is tied with GoT for worst ending. He couldn't even make it two full Star Trek movies without shitting the bed. My guess, it would have been just as bad or worse.
