Extremely well deserved 3-1 victory by Sendai over Sumida (at Sumida Arena) tonight. 1st game of round 3 of the F.League - and Sendai's 1st win of the season. Sumida and Sendai now both have 3 points after 3 rounds of play.

Last season, Japan international Chikage Kichibayashi transferred to Jimbee Roldan in the 1st division of the top women's league in Spain. Jimbee Roldan won the league, while Chikage tore her ACL. But she's now on her way back...

The "disgrace of Gijon" led to the last games of group matches being played at the same time, but further revision is needed. My suggestion: Give the ref the discretion to declare the game forfeited if both teams fail to demonstrate a willingness to play.

I knew that Proneo Sports had been interested in Kazuya Shimizu, but I guess that now it's official. That's a strong connection to have.

Remember: Japan has a division 2 this year! This is the team poster for Boaluz Nagano, who will be playing at the White Ring, a venue that is a legacy of the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics games. First game is against Hiroshima F-Do on Jul. 1 at 1:00.

Aren't the last games of a given group played at the same time to avoid this kind of nonsense. Was it West Germany-Austria originally? There was supposed to have been an understanding that this kind of "gentlemen's agreement" is not legitimate. Very disappointing.

Youth Olympic Centre in Buenos Aires in its final construction stage. Only 100 days away, 12 of the 32 YO sports will be held at the Centre. Maybe futsal? The Japan women's team has won a berth but is still waiting for official confirmation from the JOC.

Bank of Beirut coach saying that Iran int'l Mahdi Javid will officially join the team in 10 days - when he arrives. Serbian int'l Dragan Tomic has been with BOB the last 1 year. Lebanese int'l players recently playing quite well, so BOB could be a dark horse at the AFC Clubs.

Players in the women's futsal league of Indonesia tend to be students and teachers, but national team goalkeeper Citra Adisti is in futsal full-time. If her Instagram account is any indication of her popularity, she's quite popular: 124,000 followers!

After a preseason cup and 2 rounds of the league, the the F.League Big 3 seem to be Nagoya, Machida & Osaka. Only 3 teams in the playoffs this season, so contenders such as Fugador Sumida need to work hard. The Tokyo team has a win and a loss and hosts Sendai at home tomorrow.

No surprise that Port's Kanison made goalkeeper of the week in the Thai League after a stellar performance. Bangkok BTS sits on top of the league with Chonburi following closely 3 points out (and a game in hand). The 2 teams go head to head on Saturday.
