Remember how terrified we were of John McCain & Mitt Romney as candidates. We had no idea how much worse it could get. Or that they would be literally the only two GOP senators willing to stand up to a constitution-abusing despot. Country over party. Bless you both.

If there's one thing doing research for a book on space has taught me it's that people tend to wildly underestimate how brutal space (e.g. everywhere in the universe other than the surface of Earth) is to the human body.

Heehee. It's lovely when a textbook makes you chuckle, especially when it's a textbook about architecture. Architecture jargon can be particularly tough to wade through! (Quote from Brent Sherwood from "Out of This World: The New Field of Space Architecture).

A day in the life of a live tree (day 128): Telenomus emerged from Bassettia pallida stem on Quercus geminata. This genus has not been reported to attack galls on live oaks before & DNA sequence data was ~89% similar to an undescribed Telenomus species on .

Telenomus from the Platygastroidea are typically egg parasitoids, but the range of hosts infected by this superfamily is broad. Pictured here: the wing of the Telenomus wasp attacking B. pallida stem galls, which may be an egg parasitoid of the cynipid or other associates.
