I recently got to have a long conversation with someone heavily involved in the jewish genealogical community. A lot of interesting stuff, but something that stood out was the whole ((())) "fellow white people" thing has an interesting parallel.
they have a concept that they call something like mimicry. diaspora are more closely related genetically to eachother than they are to their regional populations. but since they look similar to their hosts they assume their identity. thinking they're more closely related to them.

diaspora exist in a state of being in the same haplogroup, yet disproportionately identify with genetically distinct locals. the jewish genealogist version of "fellow white people" is "56% muh ancestors".
