Deffo check out and the harvi products. Two good options if you are on a tank or on demand style system. Relatively easy to retro fit. 👍 Great thread

"There are so many difficulties with solutions. First of all, they require people to explain things to other people, and people don’t like to be talked down to. They prefer to be taken advantage of."

20kWp of panels on the roof and a Uniq9 heat battery charged via a Eddi either from the or off peak electricity. All commissioned today. Currently producing 1.1kW in this grey weather, so can still charge the heat battery.

Its so insulting to the workforce to just say 'oh, they're useless, so quality could never happen'. Clearly not true and a horrible attitude. I wonder what a sociologist would make of it?

We all want to help address the climate crisis. But it’s such a complex issue that it can be hard to distinguish between data-backed improvements and feel-good distractions. So here's your data-backed guide:

If you're ever remodeling or building a new home, *please* ask for it to be all-electric. Otherwise you'll be kicking yourself when you face more expensive retrofits and appliance replacements down the road. This policy change is coming, and you can get ahead of it.

100% agree with this.Valiant attempts by & others to make accessible can’t compensate for the fact that the market remains baffling & unattractive for many valuable DERs. Including all the home retrofits that are coming.

Yes! with some recent thinking , we see two ways to circular economy 1) vertical integration of real estate, design, cons and ops 2) remaining as loosely coupled + networked industry, but creating new long term fin incentive structures (using blockchain, IoT, dig twins)

It’s 2020 and we still have single pane windows? Landlords have little incentive to buy energy-efficient (read: expensive) windows for their rental stores, because the businesses themselves typically pay the utility bills. – mjesto: One Girl Cookies

If we can use open source data or the environmental psychology literature to help show the financial and social value of good design, density, genuinely sustainable buildings (and the demand for it), this can give investors and decision makers confidence to back this approach.

“Allen’s team estimated the cost of increasing building ventilation standards from the current 20 cfm/person to 40 cfm/p across a range of U.S. climate zones... annual energy costs would be at most $40/person, but companies would gain $6,500/employee from greater productivity”
